The Story
Khanya is scamming people. He is based in Robertson, approximately 157 km from Cape Town. If you're interested in the iPhone he's advertising, he’ll tell you to come and collect it. Due to the distance, he’ll offer to deliver it for a fee instead.
He’ll send you a video showing a packaged phone being dropped off at a courier service, along with some courier documents. Then he’ll ask you to quickly make a deposit, claiming he’s done his part, and promising that out of trust you can pay the balance once you receive the phone.
He’s part of a syndicate. At one point, I even spoke to a woman who claimed to be from the courier company. I knew it was a scam, but I played along to see how far it would go.
